The Catholic Eucharist is one of the seven Catholic sacraments, the sacrament of Our Lord's Body and Blood, soul and divinity. It is the most frequented of the seven sacraments since it is the sacrament that we can receive most often! The Blessed Sacrament is the food for our souls and the remedy for our inclination to sin.
St. Anne's Helper Audio Catechism (CD or Download) teach the basics of the Catholic religion in a concise manner! These audiobooks make Cliffs Notes for adults seeking a "Catholicism 101" or for young students in catechism class!
Being well disposed to receive a sacrament simply means being in the state of sanctifying grace and desiring the sacrament. Study can help, especially when learning the Catholic prayers. Review the basic Catholic beliefs during RCIA or the First Communion year can help the student be better disposed to receive the sacrament. This is true of each of the seven Catholic sacraments, the better disposed one is the more graces he will receive which help him get to Heaven - the one thing necessary.

This is the "wedding feast" to which we are all called so we should dress in our finest clothes as we would for a wedding, yet remember that First Communion dresses should also be modest both as to cut (sometimes the mornings are chilly, too) as well as to decoration (remember, Jesus is the King in this ceremony). The Catholic Eucharist should fill the thoughts and prayers of the day, not a worry over ruining an ornate dress!
A secret to finding the white extras like little white First Communion purses is to search early before Easter. The fancy white shoes, hair clips, stockings (which can give a more elegant look than short socks which can also make a child look heavier), and sweaters. They are frequently available long before Easter, yet the department store supplies are frequently diminished by May.
Be sure to buy shoes early during the First Communion year because the white shoes frequently sell out with Easter sales. Don't buy them too early since a child's feet can grow quickly in a short time, unless you are buying with the intent to save them for the child they will fit. We usually buy new shoes for each girl since she is free to wear them to church and for dress all summer long and gets good use from them. Be sure to remember the length of any procession she will be in for May Crownings, the feast of Corpus Christi, Christ the King, etc. when deciding on how fancy or how high a heel to buy.
The same doesn't work so well for boys. They usually don't have much opportunity to wear white shoes unless there are upcoming weddings, etc. Buy a bit generous size shoes for your first boy in case his younger brothers have bigger feet at the same age. God gave us a giant opportunity when we happened in on a shoe sale and saw boys white shoes for sale for one dollar per shoe (when our first son was just two years old!). We knew our daughter's size since she had just received her First Communion so we just bought the size under, the same size and the next size up for just in case! So far they have worked for our first two sons, several cousins, friends and acquaintances!
