Catholic Homeschool Curriculum
Our Catholic homeschool curriculum providers use the Baltimore Catechism to teach the Catholic beliefs and Catholic prayers! St. Anne's Helper Audio Catechism and Catechism Copybooks make it fun and easy! There are more and more resources for Catholic homeschooling. It is a God-send to have help teaching the basic Catholic beliefs. Many of these resources were not available 30 years ago, so we extend our gratitude to the good souls who have developed these Catholic homeschool programs so that we have at hand a "homeschool curriculum in a box" or the ability to "pick and choose" the Catholic books we see fit for our families. Several are accredited homeschool programs.
Seton Home Study School has an excellent Catholic homeschool curriculum and has totally rewritten many old Catholic textbooks into a more homeschool user-friendly format....
Kolbe Academy uses the Baltimore Catechism to teach the Catholic beliefs in its homeschool curriculum. Saint Maximilian Kolbe is its patron saint. See its Catholic book store.... Mother of Divine Grace School "Mother of Divine Grace's home school curriculum is a particular application of Laura Berquist's recommendations in her book Designing Your Own Classical Curriculum...." Our Lady of the Rosary School uses the book Jesus Comes to teach the Catholic beliefs which is the foundation book for St. Anne's Audio Catechism and Copybook for First Communion.... CHC offers lesson plans, free curriculum, ...." Catholicity has a variety of services that can be a great service to Catholic homeschoolers like the Catholic Encyclopedia (1914). See their "Best Catholic Links" an "Exclusive database hundreds of carefully screened links". St. Anne's Helper Audio Catechism and Catechism Copybook has put together the best Catholic answers to the Baltimore Catechism for First Communion and Confirmation. This is a God-send for certitude later on when parents are trying to decide which books are truly Catholic. Having the basic Catholic beliefs correct makes discernment much easier. Need to memorize the Catholic prayers or the Ten Commandments? Easy. Just go to the specific track and press "repeat one"! Do you want a self correcting quiz? Easy. Just press "pause" between the question and the answer!
The text of both the First Communion and the Catholic Confirmation Catechisms are also available as Catechism Copybook Ebooks as well! They are downloadable now. You can reprint as many as you would like. The First Communion Catechism Copybook is available in beautiful Manuscript. The Confirmation Catechism Copybook is available in either beautiful Manuscript or beautiful Cursive - your choice! They can be spiral bound at an office supply store, printed on 3-holed paper to keep in a binder (our favorite way), or used as printable worksheets.
