Advent and Christmas Traditions Giving Gifts Of Faith
Christmas traditions depend upon the birth of Christ. It is on this event that Christmas customs are formed. Christmas means "Christ Mass" just like the terms Candlemas on the Feast of the Purification means "Candle Mass" and Michaelmas on the Feast of St. Michael means "Michael Mass": Candlemas Day, Michaelmas Day, and Christmas Day, etc.
We pray during the Roman Catholic Advent Season in order to prepare and do penance for the coming of Jesus. The better we prepare the happier Christmas will be. It is Jesus' Birthday! It was the first manifestation that our hope is true! The main gift should go to Him. We should remember Him by assisting at Mass and saying prayers that reflect our gratitude to Him for all that He has given.
If your schedule includes searching for the top 10 Christmas gifts and for unique Christmas gifts, St. Anne's Helper has Catholic gifts of Faith that make your job of finding the best Christmas gift easier. Many parents and grandparents are searching for the perfect gift to give their children and we would like to suggest that they offer them the newest Gift of Faith in the Catholic books epartment. St. Anne's Helper offers audiobook CDs of the First Communion Catechism and the Confirmation Catechism preparation.

Advent and Christmas Traditions
Usually we've had exactly enough children to be some factor of 24 (1,2,3,4,6,8), so we start our Advent calendar on Dec 1 and take turns who gets to open the doors, etc.
We begin our Advent Wreath and Creche on the First Sunday of Advent (which is not Dec 1 very often!). We keep an extra set of Advent Candles each year so as to be able to set up in time for the First Sunday in Advent.
One of our favorite Advent and Christmas traditions is to set up the Nativity scene by the First Sunday of Advent so that we can watch the shepherds moving through the village, Joseph and Mary's very long walk, Baby Jesus' arrival; and eventually the Three Wise Men's arrivals and departures! Daddy helps us dress it up with farm animals from his old trainset and we use mini-Christmas ornament type trees and such that we add every year.
St. Anne's Helper Audio Catechisms and Printable Worksheets are unique Christmas gifts that make it easy to learn the basic Catholic beliefs. The essential truths of the Roman Catholic Catechism are condensed into two Audio Catechisms: First Communion and Confirmation. They are offered as CDs or as Audio Downloads. Of course, the CDs make the better presentation as a Christmas gift since they can be wrapped. If the gift is for Mom teaching the faith at home, the Downloads are the faster presentation.
St. Anne's Helper Printable Catechism Copybooks
(Download only) can be bound in a special binder to give as a personalized gift to one who will receive First Communion or Confirmation this year! And for year after year since they are reprintable.
Give the gift of eternal happiness! Learning the Catholic prayers is easy with St. Anne's Helper!
