Christmas nativity celebration in Palmer, Alaska
A more recent family Christmas tradition is that of attending a community nativity display and celebration. It is held each year at a local church in Palmer, Alaska.
The picture that you see is only the tip of the iceberg. There were 10 different rooms, all with varying nativity themes.
Additionally there were paintings and cross-stitched nativity scenes.
It is an event where people of all faiths can come listen to community, church and school choirs perform Christmas carols...while viewing nearly any type of nativity that you can imagine.
All the nativities displayed were from the private collections of members of the community. It makes for a very special Christmas tradition and helps us all to remember the real meaning of Christmas.
