Some children do not read Cursive well enough to use it for study purposes, so it is a benefit to them to have the spelling and formation in Manuscript. Other children make the connection right away. They seem to "start write"! Writing from the Cursive format avails them the opportunity to use these pages for penmanship practice sheets and learn the material as they write.
