St. Martha Please Help Robert And His Illness

by Anna
(Cincinnati)

Saint Martha, pray for us!

Saint Martha, pray for us!

I have a cousin who has been ill with a pain disease for 5 years and may soon be wheelchair bound. There is no cure for this disease and the treatments have both posed risks, and proven to be ineffective. Shortly after seeing him for the first time since the onset of this illness, I was downright shaken and found myself praying for him multiple times a day. About a month later, I found an old folded paper in my grandmother's drawer with the novena to Saint Martha written out on it. I knew right away that I was to pray for him. It just felt like she was nudging me in the right direction. I have begun saying the novena and am very hopeful that Martha will aide me and my family. He himself has a young family and his health has taken a toll on all of them.

I myself have recently experienced a long debilitating illness and fully grasp the desolation of living life without the possibility of health. Now that I have a positive prognosis and have learned again to hope I want to pass on the new joy I have found. It seems to me that it was Martha's faith which saved Lazarus and won her a place so near Jesus' heart, and it is her faith that allows her to intercede in our most difficult situations. Faith is one trait Martha and I share. My faith has carried me through the darkness and with the help of this most inspirational saint I want to help light the way for him.

Please would you help me to pray for his health and spiritual well being? Every prayer makes this world a little bit brighter. God Bless.

Saint Martha And Saint Lazarus, Pray For Us!
by: Anonymous

Oh, Anne!

Your story is so touching. You have a very fortunate cousin and we are touched by your faith and perseverance with Saint Martha. My children just listened to your story and want to pray for all of you, too.

It is amazing how seeing someone in severe pain is so shaking and I wish I could remember to pray as often during a day as I do when I am shaken by some difficulty like this. We really sympathize with you and your cousin and his family.

It is such a joy to hear of your positive prognosis! May God grant your cousin the same grace.

We are joining your intentions to our daily Rosary.

Mary
